2011 Not So Big Showhouse

Sarah Susanka's 2011 Not So Big Showhouse at SchoolStreet brings her 'build better, not bigger' design principles to a well-thought out neighborhood urban infill project in the vibrant existing village of Libertyville, Illinois, just North of Chicago. Construction is complete, and the Grand Opening event was held Saturday, November 19, 2011, with more than 500 visitors touring the house and meeting Sarah. The Showhouse will remain open for viewing and tours on weekends until May 2012. Tour hours are Saturdays 9:00am - 4:00pm and Sundays 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

2005 Showhouse

The Not So Big Showhouse 2005 and Home By Design Showhouse 2004 have become flagships for the movement to "build better, not bigger". Sarah joined with leaders in the areas of design, building science and sustainability to create homes which demonstrate the concepts described in her books and presentations.
